About Amforge Industries Ltd Amforge Industries Limited (AIL), established in 1971, is one of India's leading manufacturers of steel forgings. Originally known as Hakimrai Jaichand Forgings Pvt Ltd, the company underwent several transformations, including a name change in 1995 and becoming a public limited company in 1986. AIL expanded its capabilities by amalgamating Isha Steel Processors in 1994 and investing in increasing its production capacity to 35,000 tonnes per annum through a public issue in 1990. The company has manufacturing facilities in Mumbai, Pune, Faridabad, and Khopoli, serving the automotive sector with products like crankshafts and connecting rods.
In 2005-06, AIL's Chakan plant was demerged into Mahindra Automotive Steels Ltd., leading to a restructuring of its shareholder's equity. However, the Chinchwad plant, once a major production site, ceased operations in 2008. Subsequently, AIL expanded its business by making Dujon Commercial Private Limited a wholly-owned subsidiary in October 2008.
