Amforge Industries Limited (AIL), established in 1971, is one of India's leading manufacturers of steel forgings. Originally known as Hakimrai Jaichand Forgings Pvt Ltd, the company underwent several transformations, including a name change in 1995 and becoming a public limited company in 1986. AIL expanded its capabilities by amalgamating Isha Steel Processors in 1994 and investing in increasing its production capacity to 35,000 tonnes per annum through a public issue in 1990. The company has manufacturing facilities in Mumbai, Pune, Faridabad, and Khopoli, serving the automotive sector with products like crankshafts and connecting rods.
In 2005-06, AIL's Chakan plant was demerged into Mahindra Automotive Steels Ltd., leading to a restructuring of its shareholder's equity. However, the Chinchwad plant, once a major production site, ceased operations in 2008. Subsequently, AIL expanded its business by making Dujon Commercial Private Limited a wholly-owned subsidiary in October 2008.
