About Alkali Metals Ltd Alkali Metals Limited, established in 1968 and based in Hyderabad, is a chemical manufacturing company initially focusing on sodium metal production. Over the years, it diversified its offerings to include sodium derivatives, pyridine derivatives, and fine chemicals, catering to industries such as pharmaceuticals, agro-products, biotechnology, and more. The company operates two ISO-certified manufacturing units with a combined capacity of 2,200 MTPA. In 2003, Alkali Metals expanded Unit II as a 100% Export Oriented Unit and later fully acquired it in 2005, enhancing its production efficiency by recovering hydrogen for reuse.
Although initially acquiring Balaji Agro Industries Limited to explore agro-product processing, Alkali Metals divested its stake in 2005 due to integration challenges. In 2007-08, the company expanded its production capacity to 4,400 MT with significant investment and planned further expansion at Pharma City, Visakhapatnam. Alkali Metals' strategic diversification and expansion aim to strengthen its position in the global chemical industry.
