About IndiGrid Infrastructure Trust India Grid Trust, established by Sterlite Power Grid Ventures Limited and registered under SEBI regulations as India's first Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) in the power sector, focuses on owning and investing in power transmission assets across India. Launched in June 2017 and listed on Indian stock exchanges, IndiGrid aims to provide stable and sustainable distributions to its unitholders. Sponsored by Sterlite Power, a leading private power transmission company, IndiGrid has acquired various transmission projects developed on a Build Own Operate and Maintain (BOOM) basis.
The Trust has seen substantial investment and growth, raising Rs 25.1 billion in 2019, with significant contributions from KKR and GIC. It has continued expanding its asset portfolio with major acquisitions, including solar and battery energy storage projects, and forming strategic partnerships for future projects. In 2023, IndiGrid acquired assets worth INR 15 billion and expanded into renewable energy, strengthening its position in the power transmission sector.
