About Hemisphere Properties India Ltd Hemisphere Properties India Limited (HPIL), established in 2005, is a Central Public Sector Enterprise engaged in real estate development. Originally formed to manage surplus land from the disinvestment of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (now Tata Communications Limited), HPIL focuses on constructing and developing commercial and residential properties across India. With approximately 2.99 million square meters of land in Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and Kolkata, the company’s portfolio includes office buildings, industrial sheds, hotels, and apartments, which can be sold, leased, or rented.
In 2012, the Government of India acquired a 51.12% stake, making HPIL a government company administered by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs since 2018. Following a Scheme of Arrangement & Reconstruction with Tata Communications, HPIL issued 28.5 crore equity shares to Tata Communications' shareholders at a 1:1 ratio and listed on the BSE and NSE in 2020. This strategic move aligns with HPIL's objective to manage and develop properties nationwide.
