About Nifty500 Healthcare The Nifty500 Healthcare Index is a sectoral benchmark that tracks the performance of the top 50 healthcare-related stocks within the Nifty 500 universe. Constituents are selected based on their six-month average free-float market capitalization, with priority given to stocks available for trading in the derivatives segment. Each stock's weight is determined by its free-float market capitalization and capped at 10% to ensure diversification. The index has a base date of April 1, 2005, and a base value of 1000. It is reconstituted semi-annually and rebalanced quarterly. The index serves as a benchmark for active managers and a reference for passive investment products like ETFs, index funds, and structured instruments.
