About Filmcity Media Ltd Filmcity Media Limited, originally established as Kavita Prakashan Private Limited in 1994, transitioned to its current name and status as a public limited company in 1995. Initially known for its popular Hindi film magazine 'Filmcity', the company expanded into electronic media by creating a video studio with comprehensive production and post-production capabilities. It produced content for major networks such as Doordarshan, Zee TV, and Star Plus. However, the decline in print media and increased competition in TV production challenged the company’s market position. In 1995, Filmcity Media set up advanced post-production facilities in Bombay and launched a public issue to finance these ventures.
By 2009-10, the company's revenue primarily stemmed from TV serial/documentary sales. Currently, Filmcity Media is involved in film production, distribution, and exhibition, navigating a competitive media landscape.
