About Aegis Vopak Terminals Ltd Aegis Vopak Terminals Limited, established in 2013, is a major player in the storage terminal industry in India. Initially known as Aegis LPG Logistics (Pipavav) Limited, the company underwent a name change in August 2021 following a Board resolution. It specializes in offering secure storage and associated infrastructure for liquid products, chemicals, and gases such as LPG, propane, and butane. As of June 30, 2024, the company manages an aggregate storage capacity of approximately 1.50 million cubic meters for liquids and 70,800 metric tons for LPG.
The company operates an extensive infrastructure network, including 2 LPG storage terminals and 16 liquid storage terminals at five major Indian ports. Its facilities support coastal trade, imports, and exports, with specialized operations such as product storage tanks, firefighting systems, pipelines linked to jetties, and evacuation options via road, rail, ship, and pipelines. Recent expansions include the commissioning of the Kandla LPG Cryogenic Terminal in 2022 and new propylene-rated spheres at Pipavav in February 2024, alongside expansions at terminals in Kandla, Kochi, and Mangalore.
Aegis Vopak has grown significantly through strategic acquisitions and partnerships. Notably, it entered a joint venture with Dutch multinational Royal Vopak in July 2021 and acquired several terminals across strategic locations, including the Ruchi Terminal at Kochi in September 2023 and the Nandella Terminal in Mangalore in early 2024. These expansions have bolstered its capacity and diversified its operations across key coastal trade hubs.
To support its growth plans, the company is preparing for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) to raise up to ₹3500 crore through the issuance of equity shares. This move is aimed at further strengthening its asset base and capitalizing on India's energy and chemical storage growth opportunities.
